I know others will disagree, but I’m impressed with the dresses overall at the Emmys. There were plenty of simple, elegant non-fussy gowns in solid colors. Since I favor more conservative styles with clean lines most of them were just my style.

I’ve seen both the original and the current HBO remake of Mildred Pierce, and while I enjoyed the miniseries I felt that they could have cut out about 1/3 of it, or nearly two hours, and not have lost much.
