Can you talk us through the collection in your own words? Lily & Sarah: There are 18 dresses in total, inspired by times past, a mix of sundresses with floral and kitsch prints for daytime wear and some glamorous frocks designed with evening parties in mind.
Do you have any favorite pieces? Lily: I love the regatta and the Honky Tonk. The Honky Tonk is based on my first ever vintage purchase and will always have a special place in my heart.
Sarah:My favorites would have to by The Roxy and Zanzibar – the two long jumpsuits in the collection. Worn back with heels you can’t go wrong.
What are your styling tips for maxi dresses? Sarah: There is nothing more instantly chic than a floor-grazing maxi dress but I always complete the look with a stack of bangles and pair of vintage sunglasses from the Liz Mendes selection at Lucy in Disguise.
You’ve got a killer LBD in there that’s been styled with cut-off gloves – is this inspired by Karl Lagerfeld perchance? Lily: No, we just thought the dress would look great with gloves.
How does it feel to add fashion designer to your CV? Lily: I really enjoy being part of a design team, it’s really rewarding. I love fashion, I always have, I feel like I’m learning all the time.

Did you always intend to create your own collection upon opening Lucy In Disguise? Lily:
No, it just felt like a natural step to take after opening the store.
